Who we are

Steve's Outpost ("we", "us") is published by Type 5 Marketing LLC and operates at stevesoutpost.com. Privacy questions go to info@stevesoutpost.com.

What we collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages get read and which buy links get clicked. GA4 collects device type, approximate location derived from IP address, referring site, pages viewed and interactions such as outbound affiliate clicks. Google processes this on our behalf; Google's own privacy terms apply to the data it holds.

We do not use this data to identify you, we do not attempt to link it to any other data set, and we do not sell or share it with anyone. You can block it with any standard ad or tracker blocker, and the site works normally if you do.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you type, transmitted by email through Microsoft Graph. We keep it as long as needed to answer you and to maintain a record of corrections. We never add it to a mailing list — there is no mailing list.

The form also uses two anti-spam checks: a hidden field that real visitors never fill in, and a timestamp recording when the page loaded, used to reject submissions made in under three seconds. Neither is used to identify or profile you.

Server logs

Our host, Vercel, keeps standard request logs including IP address and user agent for security and operational purposes. We do not mine them.

What we do not collect

• No accounts, so no usernames or passwords.
• No payment information — you never buy anything from us.
• No email list, no newsletter, no marketing automation.
• No advertising network, no retargeting pixels, no data brokers.

Cookies

Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and sessions.

Amazon affiliate cookies are set by Amazon — not by us — when you click a buy link and land on their site. That cookie is how Amazon attributes a purchase to us, and it is subject to Amazon's privacy notice, not this one. We never see who you are or what you bought; we see aggregate commission totals only.

We set no advertising cookies of our own. Browser settings and tracker blockers control all of the above.

Third parties

• Vercel — hosting and request logs.
• Google Analytics — usage analytics.
• Amazon — affiliate link attribution and product data. Product images on this site are served from Amazon's CDN, so loading a page with product images makes a request to Amazon.
• Microsoft Graph — delivery of contact form messages.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold, to object to processing, or to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and there is very little to access — but email info@stevesoutpost.com and we will action any valid request.

To remove analytics data associated with your browsing, clear your cookies or use Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, email us and it will be deleted.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above changes with it. There is no version where we start selling data — that is not the business model and it never will be.
